Beach Clean-Up at 3ème Courtade Beach, Porquerolles, France

On July 3, 2024, a dedicated team of volunteers gathered at 3ème Courtade Beach in Porquerolles, France, for a significant beach clean-up operation. Organized by the NGO Explore & Preserve in collaboration with the REMEDIES partner Smilo, this event aimed to address the ongoing issue of beach litter and promote environmental sustainability.

The clean-up took place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with volunteers equipped with gloves, bags, and other necessary tools. Despite the summer heat, the volunteers remained enthusiastic and committed throughout the two-hour event. The collaboration between Explore & Preserve and REMEDIES ensured the event was well-organized and impactful. The clean-up covered a total area of 100 meters in length, with an average width of 6 meters. A total of 25 dedicated volunteers participated in the event, reflecting the strong community spirit and commitment to environmental conservation.

The clean-up yielded impressive results, with a total of 28 kg of waste collected. This included 6 kg of plastic litter and 22 kg of other waste materials. These efforts are a testament to the power of community involvement in environmental conservation and the effectiveness of well-coordinated clean-up initiatives.
