Protecting Sardinia’s Coastline: Beach Clean-up & Monitoring

By November 29, 2024December 3rd, 2024News

A major milestone in protecting Sardinia’s stunning coastline was achieved through the efforts of REMEDIES partners VLPF and CNR. On Tuesday, November 26, the 2nd PLASTIC FANTASTIC hybrid seminar was held at the CNR-IAS Torregrande in Sardinia, a center renowned for its expert discussions and scientific innovation. This event was organized in collaboration with UM and IHA.

Following the seminar, participants actively engaged in a hands-on beach cleanup and monitoring session at Spiaggia Is Arenas. The activities focused on identifying and categorizing plastic waste, removing harmful plastics, and restoring the natural beauty of the beach. This initiative highlights the commitment of all partners to combine scientific knowledge with community action for a cleaner, healthier marine environment.

Today’s event is just one part of a broader mission to combat plastic pollution and protect our oceans. Follow the REMEDIES project and its partners for updates, insights, and opportunities to get involved. Together, we can turn the tide on plastic pollution and ensure a cleaner, healthier planet.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of the REMEDIES project and other sustainability initiatives making waves around the globe.
