In view of the Anti-litter Campaign in France, the REMEDIES program partner SMILO and Explore & Preserve, carried out a series of impactful beach clean-ups in France, reinforcing the importance of collective action in preserving marine ecosystems. These clean-ups took place over three consecutive days, from January 17 to 19, 2025, covering multiple locations along the French coastline. Volunteers dedicated their time and effort to removing waste from Fond de Baie, Port Man Beach, Palud Beach, South Beach (Port-Cros), 3ème Courtade (Porquerolles), and Grottes Beach (Le Levant).
A total of 62 committed individuals participated in this initiative, demonstrating the power of community engagement in tackling marine pollution. Their efforts contributed to clearing over 1,207 meters of coastline, ensuring that these beautiful coastal areas remain clean and free from hazardous waste. The clean-up results were significant, with 163 kilograms of plastic litter and 74 kilograms of other waste successfully collected and removed from the environment.
Through collective effort, we continue to make strides in safeguarding our oceans, one clean-up at a time.
