In partnership with the REMEDIES program, All for Blue has been diligently conducting beach clean-up operations across various locations in Greece, focusing on the Cyclades demo site. Their mission is to tackle marine pollution and foster a culture of environmental conservation. The results of their recent clean-up efforts are a testament to their dedication and impact.

On May 22, 2024, the team started their efforts at Lampi Beach in Patmos. Beginning at 10:00 AM and working until noon, the volunteers managed to cover a beach stretch of 241 meters in length and 15 meters in width. Lampi Beach witnessed the collection of a substantial amount of litter. The dedicated efforts of 127 participants led to the removal of 40.8 kg of plastic litter and 61.2 kg of other types of waste. This initiative highlighted the critical need for such clean-ups in maintaining the pristine beauty of Greece’s beaches.

Two days later, on May 24, 2024, the All for Blue team moved their operations to Panagitsa Beach in Drosia. This clean-up event took place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Covering an area of 191 meters in length and 23 meters in width, the volunteers once again demonstrated their commitment. The team, consisting of 85 participants, collected an impressive 72.6 kg of plastic litter and an additional 167.4 kg of other waste materials. The success at Panagitsa Beach underscored the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation efforts.

On June 5, 2024, two more clean-ups were conducted on the same day. The first was at Edem Beach in Palaio Faliro, Athens, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Measuring 274 meters by 30 meters, the clean-up saw 43 participants collect 26.4 kg of plastic and 48.8 kg of other litter. Simultaneously, another team worked at B Alipedo Beach in Alimos. This beach, covering 185 meters in length and 22 meters in width, witnessed the collection of 20 kg of plastic and 28 kg of other waste by 33 participants.

The most recent clean-up took place on June 7, 2024, at Alikes Beach in Artemida. Starting at 10:30 AM and concluding an hour later, this effort focused on a beach stretch of 263 meters in length and 21 meters in width. With 28 dedicated participants, the team managed to gather 11.7 kg of plastic litter and 23.3 kg of other waste.

Cumulatively, All for Blue’s clean-up operations at these five beaches resulted in the removal of a significant amount of litter: 171.5 kg of plastic waste and 328.7 kg of other types of waste. These efforts not only help in keeping the beaches clean but also play a crucial role in protecting marine life and promoting sustainability. The All for Blue NGO continues to inspire communities and set a remarkable example in the fight against marine pollution.
