The Remedies partner Next Technology Tecnotessile attended the 2nd edition of the Textile Recycling Expo in Brussels, focused on textile waste management, including the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fibres and non-wovens.
New connections were made, inspiring discussions were, and one shared ambition was clear: building a more circular future for the textile industry.
As part of REMEDIES that develops innovative solutions to monitor, collect, prevent, and valorise plastic waste dispersed in seas and oceans, Next Technology Tecnotessile together with Cittadini, develop and produce fishing nets made with biodegradable polymers as a sustainable alternative to traditional nets, using advanced biodegradable polymer compounds and a production pathway based on melt spinning for yarn production, followed by twisting, weaving, thermo-fixing and confection of the net.
Events like this remind us how important collaboration is in driving innovation. Beyond showcasing technologies and solutions, the Expo has been a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from industry experts, and strengthen relationships across the textile recycling ecosystem.
This commitment to innovation extends beyond the exhibition floor through our involvement in several European projects, all working towards a common goal: improving waste management and resource valorisation through different approaches and technologies.
