Beach Cleanup at Potamos Epanomis, in Greece

By July 23, 2024News

On June 23, the dedicated volunteers from the Akti Retzika team organized a beach clean-up at Potamos Epanomis. The event, held in the morning from 9:30 to 11:30, saw the enthusiastic participation of 16 volunteers. Together, they managed to collect 56 kg of plastic litter and 4.5 kg of other waste, which was responsibly disposed of.

This clean-up effort is part of the larger #20TonnesChallenge under the REMEDIES program, showcasing a collective commitment to reducing plastic waste and protecting our precious marine environments.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work and dedication to making a positive impact on our beaches. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey towards sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The Impact Hub Athens, REMEDIES partner, is proud to have facilitated this event in view of its collaboration with the Adopt a Beach program of WWF Greece, for the #20TonnesChallenge.
