By November 7, 2024News

The REMEDIES project recently took center stage at the General Assembly of the EU-funded SureNexus project, held in Athens from October 23-25, 2024. This event brought together experts and stakeholders focused on climate adaptation, sustainable development, and resource efficiency across the Mediterranean. Organized by the Sanitary Engineering Laboratory (SEL) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the gathering provided an invaluable platform for exploring innovative solutions to the region’s environmental challenges.

The SureNexus project emphasizes the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach, a strategic framework aimed at enhancing sustainable agricultural practices. By integrating regenerative and precision agriculture, SureNexus promotes the production of healthy, sufficient food with reduced resource use, minimizing environmental impacts while addressing climate adaptation needs.

At the networking event on October 23rd, the REMEDIES project team presented groundbreaking innovations that support sustainable practices and reduce plastic pollution. Joined by other EU-funded initiatives, REMEDIES highlighted its commitment to the Mediterranean’s environmental health, aligning its strategies with SureNexus’s goals to build resilience and sustainability throughout the region.
