As part of the REMEDIES project, under the Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”, which aims to tackle plastic pollution in the Mediterranean, the island of Porquerolles, located off the coast of southern France in the Var region, has been designated as one of the pilot sites.

As part of the Anti-litter Campaign in France, REMEDIES partner SMILO led beach clean-ups from January 17-19, 2025, removing 163 kg of plastic and 74 kg of waste across six coastal locations.
