Showcasing REMEDIES Innovation: Biodegradable Fishing Nets
As part of the Italian campaign, REMEDIES will present its groundbreaking Biodegradable Fishing Nets—developed by Cittadini, Next Technology Tecnotessile, with partners including CNR, Bio-Mi, AITIIP, and the University of Maribor.
This sustainable solution provides fishing gear designed for durability during use but full degradation under industrial composting conditions. Unlike conventional nylon or polyethylene nets that persist for decades, these biodegradable nets:
✔ Prevent marine litter from abandoned fishing gear
✔ Decompose completely in composting facilities
✔ Fit into circular waste management systems
✔ Help fisheries comply with emerging sustainability regulations
