The REMEDIES project was proudly represented at the 9th Ceremonial Signing Event of the Diversity Charter Slovenia, a high-level event bringing together experts from academia, industry, and civil society to reflect on the role of ethics, inclusion, and transparency in shaping fair and trustworthy work environments.
Dr. Vesna Kuralt from NIC (Kemijski inštitut) participated in the thematic session “From Transparency to Trust: Culture of Fairness in Work Environments”, contributing to an important dialogue on how organisational cultures can foster trust, equity, and long-term resilience.
During her intervention, Dr. Kuralt highlighted three key dimensions that strongly resonate with the REMEDIES mission:

the importance of ethical research practices as a foundation for credibility and societal trust,

the need for meaningful integration of gender dimensions within innovation and research ecosystems,

and the everyday challenges faced by young researchers and innovators, particularly in navigating competitive, high-pressure environments.
Her contribution underlined that innovation excellence cannot be separated from human values. Fairness, equity, and trust are not abstract principles, but essential components that must be actively embedded in research processes, institutional practices, and organisational cultures.
Participation in this event reinforced REMEDIES’ broader commitment to advancing scientific and technological innovation while ensuring that ethical responsibility, inclusion, and social awareness remain central to research and innovation activities. These principles are fully aligned with REMEDIES’ vision of supporting sustainable, socially responsible solutions to environmental challenges.
