Sardinia Beach clean Up!

On August 1st CNR Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche organized a beach and sea bottom clean up in Sardinia with CReS – Centro di Recupero del Sinis and made astounding progress!

A team of 56 people spread out on a beach of over 700 meters in length and managed to collect an impressive 5,2 Kg of Litter!

While a team was working to clean up the beach, 21 snorkelers took over the sea bottom clean up and managed to collect 0.850kg of litter, consisting of plastic bags, wrapping, and plastic cups, saving our sea animals!

The beach resulted almost free by macro and mega litter!

The event has been important not only for cleaning the beach and the sea bottom, but also for the environmental awareness against plastic.
