On June 5, 2024, Kavros Beach in Chania, Crete, was the site of an inspiring clean-up initiative led by the students and teachers of Elementary School Vryses Apokoronou. The event, organized by Kouvari Georgia saw the participation of 30 enthusiastic students along with their dedicated teachers, all working together to make a positive impact on their local environment.

The clean-up began at 9:30 AM and continued until 10:30 AM, during which the students managed to cover a beach area measuring 200 meters in length and 50 meters in width. Despite the relatively short duration, the impact of their efforts was significant. The team collected a total of 6 kilograms of plastic litter and an additional 10.4 kilograms of other types of litter, showcasing their commitment to environmental stewardship. This clean-up effort at Kavros Beach is a testament to what can be achieved when communities come together with a shared goal. The event not only left a tangible positive impact on the beach but also served as an educational experience for the students, instilling in them the values of teamwork, environmental responsibility, and community service.
